Hundreds gathered in Jerusalem on Sunday to honour Charlie Kirk, in a memorial many attendees said felt less like a memorial and more like a call to action.

The event drew approximately 300 Israeli officials, clergy and Christian visitors who said Kirk was a rare public figure whose influence extended far beyond politics, months after his murder at Utah Valley University in September.

Pastor Rob McCoy told The Press Service of Israel (TPS-IL) that Kirk had been “faithful and humble”, revealing that the 31-year-old activist lived by a weekly day of rest that “grounded him”.

McCoy added that  the Christian activist, viewed politics not as power but “an on-ramp to increased humanity” and claimed that churches and student groups in the United States had seen rising participation “because of Charlie”.

Tammy Martin, a visitor from California, said she felt Kirk’s death “like losing someone I knew”, and later credited him with helping Christians understand why supporting Israel mattered.
