Organiser, James Doc told Premier: "We encourage people to stay for the whole weekend; we provide space for them to get out an airbed or a sleeping bag if they want but some people will literally have their laptops open for the full 48 hours."

Working in teams of four, participants have from 6pm on Friday 20th October until 6pm on Sunday October 22nd to create a working product which must tackle a problem set by one of two Christian charities.

Explaining how guests don't have to be professionals, Mr Doc added: "We've got people who've been coding and developing for years; they are well beyond me in their technical ability but we've also got people who just want to learn..."

In the third annual Kingdom Code BUILD event, Christians Against Poverty has requested digital tools to help staff reach and care for people struggling to make ends meet.

Meanwhile, Home for Good asked other participants to design a product to support their work finding new foster carers and adoptive parents for children.

Addressing the competitive element, Mr Doc continued: "We've got a prize for a project that's able to be delivered at the end of the weekend, so on Sunday afternoon you can download it on your phone or view it on the internet.

"And, then we've got a people choice award; everyone in the room will vote for the project that they regard to be the best."

A Monthly Gift Of $11 Makes A World Of Difference

In a world of fake news there’s never been a greater need for quality Christian journalism. Premier’s mission is to provide the Church with the most up to date and relevant news, told from a Christian perspective. But we can’t do it without you.

Unlike many websites we haven't put up a paywall — we want to keep our journalism free at the point of need and as open as we can. Premier’s news output takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. No one in the USA is sharing news like we are across radio, magazines and online so please help us to continue that today.

For a monthly gift of $11 or more we’d also be able to send you a free copy of the brand new Premier Bible, a wonderful Anglicised version of the NLT packed with exclusive bonus content, reading plan and resources to help you get the most out of scripture.

Your monthly support will make a world of difference. Thank you.
