Isabelle Graham, who's 28, was accused of 'engaging in sexual activity' with a pupil after a photo was posted on the internet of them in a Travelodge in Edinburgh after the school's prom in 2014.
Mrs Graham denied the charge.
A disciplinary hearing found her guilty and she has been barred from teaching by the General Teaching Council for Scotland.
A police investigation was started, but no criminal charges were brought.
The photo, posted online showed the teacher asleep in bed and showed a teenager standing by the door to the room holding a bottle.
The picture was allegedly taken by another school pupil but Mrs Graham said she had no memory of the evening.
Isabelle Graham's husband has defended her and claims the accusations are false.
Mrs Graham and Andrew Wilkie, who is training for the clergy, married in 2015.
Her husband said: "In all the time I have known her, Mrs Graham has always put her Christian faith above all other things.
"I have never had any doubt that the allegations against Mrs Graham were false."
The couple now live abroad.
