Justin Bieber has told fans he has "full paralysis" on one side of his face, after a virus attacked the nerves in his ear.

Posting on Instagram, the Canadian star says he's got 'Ramsay Hunt syndrome.'

In the video he tries to smile, blink and move his face but one side stays still.

The 28-year-old's had to cancel some of his upcoming gigs.

Bieber is currently on his Justice tour in North America and has cancelled performances in Toronto, Washington DC and New York.

Within his Instagram video he said: “This is pretty serious as you can see, for those who are frustrated for the cancellation of shows, I am physically not capable of doing them.

“I wish this wasn’t the case, I am going to rest.

“I hope that I will get better and I trust in God, everything happens for a reason.

"Not sure what that is right now, but in the mean time I am going to rest."
