A Christian preacher, who has previously been the victim of stabbings and attempted murder, has reportedly gone missing. Friends of Hatun Tash say she hasn't been seen for 5 weeks.
She represents DCCI (Defend Christ Critique Islam) Ministries which says it 'seeks to preach the Gospel to Muslims using apologetics and polemics'.
Edward Little, who pleaded guilty to plotting to try and kill her at Speaker's Corner, was this week jailed for at least 16 years.
Little, a Muslim convert, admitted to planning an act of terrorism. He was found by police with an envelope containing £5,000 in cash, on his way to buy a firearm and bullets in south London.
in July 2021, Tash, 39, had her face slashed at Speaker’s Corner in Hyde Park, by a man who was never apprehended, despite the attack happening in front of a crowd in broad daylight, which included a number of police officers.
Tash, who was wearing a Charlie Hebdo T-shirt at the time, later said a lack of action from police contributed to her being knifed:
"My attacker was not even afraid of the police as he did it right in front of them," she said.
"It is heart-breaking that we live in a society where police do not want to arrest a muslim, for fear of being called ‘Islamophobic.’”
The Metropolitan Police told Premier that enquiries are ongoing, in respect of the 2021 assault, and that at present they have not received a missing person report in relation to Hatun's disappearance.
