Christian singer Lauren Daigle has added her voice to calls for stronger protections for children online, lending her support to the STOP CSAM Act, a US bipartisan bill aimed at tackling online child exploitation.

The Grammy-winning artist visited Capitol Hill this week to back the legislation, which would increase accountability for tech companies and make it easier to report and remove harmful content.

Daigle, whose Christian faith influences both her music and advocacy, told Fox News the issue is deeply personal:

“At a young age, I was revolted by the idea that children are being harmed around the world and now we have an opportunity to do something about it.”

She added: “A lot of predators are here, and they can sexually exploit children around the world, which is really, really tough.”

Daigle has encouraged Christians to stand with groups such as International Justice Mission (IJM), a Christian charity which supports the bill, and provides resources for reporting abuse.

“This act is about bringing big tech to the forefront and saying, ‘You have the resources to help stop this.’ It’s global, and it’s happening on apps we all use every day,” she said.
