Refugee support group Sanctuary foundation are encouraging people to write to Rishi Sunak, urging him to play a "humanitarian" and "peacemaker" role, as Israel instruct an evacuation from Gaza.
Director Dr Krish Kandiah, who's a Christian, addressed his followers on X: "We're asking for a humanitarian solution. We're asking you to write a letter through our website to our prime minister, to ask him to play a humanitarian and Peacemaker role.
Dr Kandiah was appointed by the Secretary of State for Education as the Chair of the Adoption and Special Guardianship Leadership Board (2019-2021). He argues that children are paying the highest price in the Israel Gaza conflict.
"We're asking him (the PM) to seek an end to hostilities on both sides, and specifically to open a humanitarian corridor so that vital food and medicine can get into Gaza. And people who need to be medically evacuated can find a way out.
"And we're also asking for a safe and legal route for those who have family in the UK to be reunited here and find the safety that they need.
Dr Kandiah has also raised concerns about the UK government's backing of Israel's order of an evacuation of Northern Gaza. However, he thanked MP Alicia Kearns both for "supporting Israel and making sure Palestinian civilians get access to water and security."
"As I say, we're not trying to pick a side we're trying to find a humanitarian solution, and we think your (the British public's) voice will help our government do the right thing."
