GP Sam Dunnet is travelling to Sierra Leone this week despite the various warnings of travelling to the region.
She says safety concerns were never an issue: "I don't believe we were called to just live our lives in complete safety.
"God has empowered and equipped us to go and make a difference and be light in dark places, not to just worry about being safe."
Ebola Facts:
-13,567 cases
-4,960 deaths
-Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea worst affected areas
-£12m raised through DEC appeal
Around 5,000 people have died as a result of the Ebola epidemic in west Africa.
Dr Dunnet says she's putting her life in God's hands: "I know there's no guarantee that the fact that God is with me means I won't get Ebola, because many Christian health workers out there have already died.
"I just trust He knows what's best and He will be with and equip me to do what he's calling me to do."
The Government's Chief Medical Officer Professor Dame Sally Davies has called on NHS staff to step up and volunteer to help in the affected areas.
Last week 164 people had signed up and the Department of Health says that number is going up all the time.
All those who volunteer will receive specialist training before heading to Sierra Leone.
