An Equalities Minister has said plans to legalise gay marriage are consistent with her Christian faith. Helen Grant says this legislation is in line with the Christian values of justice and fairness. Meanwhile, the Church of England has sent a briefing note to MPs on the Marriage (Same-Sex Couples) Bill. It sets out reasons why the Church cannot support the plans and addresses some concerns. These include why specific wording is needed to give the CofE protection from discrimination challenges.
