In the three months to September, the number of people out of work fell by 103,000 to 1.75 million.
The figure represents 5.3% of the working-age population.
There were 31.21 million people in work - 177,000 more than for the April-to-June quarter - and 419,000 more than in the same period a year earlier.
But Paul Archer, National Development Manager of Christians CAP Job Clubs, told Premier: "There are still 5.3% of people who are looking for work. Being out of work is soul destroying and can bring people a lot of anxiety and depression. Those people need the care and support of the local church."
Mr Archer acknowledged the strengthening of the UK economy but believes there are places where it is not being felt.
"It is amazing - it is really good to see unemployment down. My only concern was looking at some areas like the North East where it is still 8.6% and London where it is still 6.4%."
Despite more people finding work across the country, he said he does not expect a reduction in workload at CAP.
"It is mostly people in work who are struggling with debt.
"There is always going to be a gap, and people will always be needing support. CAP is here to provide that unique relational support that they need.
"We need volunteers to come in and get trained to help fill that gap."
