He said his faith has given him the confidence to make music.
New track 'What do you Reckon?' shares a universal message of hope at a crucial time for the country and the world, according to George the Poet.
Speaking to Premier Gospel, he said: "It's given me endless optimism, it's premised on a promise.
"God says he's going to take care of everything, if I observe him and I internalise his message and I'm always conscious of his love and what he expects of me, then I'll figure everything out and that just gives me supreme confidence."
George the Poet grew up in north London and studied at the University of Cambridge.
He often references his faith and has praised God for his craft and his ability to chase his dreams.
He told Premier Gospel that prayer is important to him: "Over the years prayer's become a very personalised affair for me, sometimes I go to church and to be honest I'm confused so I've taken to studying God's words privately, but I pray like every hour.
"I think a situation through and I just take it up to God."
He hopes every person listening to his music can relate to the situations and feelings he talks about.
He said: "There is goodness inside you and that's what your conscience or heart or that voice in your head is trying to tell you.
"Sometimes it might not be the easy answer, but that's good because you're about to grow."
