Two years ago Christian organisation, Scripture Union England & Wales, developed the award-winning game "Guardians of Ancora" as a way to introduce children to Jesus.
Speaking of the game's success, Terry Clutterham, Digital Discovery Director for Scripture Union told Premier: "It's great because what it represents for us is a million opportunities for children to encounter Jesus, to be introduced to Jesus through those bible stories... that is really, really good news for us.
The game is geared towards children aged 8 to 11 years old and the organisation said there is also now real evidence that children who start with little or no interest in God are becoming more positive towards Him and the Bible.
Scripture Union has been looking at ways to increase the game's reach to children. "Guardians of Ancora" has recently been made available in the Welsh language.
Children from as diverse locations as Indonesia, Canada, South Africa and Australia have been engaging with the game's characters.
Clutterham added: "We are absolutely delighted to meet this significant milestone so quickly. However we are not resting on our laurels, we plan to accelerate this growth both in the UK and around the world by making it possible to have additional languages in Europe, South America and the Far East.
"Children love the game for its fun, "Parkour" elements and the fact they can customise their own characters and fully immerse themselves in the game. We are delighted it has been so warmly received by so many children."
The popularity of the app has also seen a number of "Guardians of Ancora" supporting products being made available, schools creating Guardians after school and lunchtime clubs.
To download the App go to the Apple App Store or Google Play and search for "Guardians of Ancora".
