Charlie Kirk shares scriptures minutes before his death

by Mitti Hicks

Just minutes before conservative activist and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk was shot in the neck and killed on Wednesday while speaking to students at Utah Valley University, he shared Bible scriptures with the crowd.

He was sharing 2 Corinthians 5:15.  The NIV translation states, "And He died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again."

In his statements to the crowd, Kirk stated, "That's all pretty amazing evidence, not just intra-biblical evidence but extra-biblical evidence that Jesus Christ was a real person. He lived a perfect life. He was crucified, died, and rose on the third day, and he is Lord and God overall."

Kirk was killed around 12:20 pm local time while kicking off his "The American Comeback Tour."  Orem, Utah was the first stop of the tour, where Kirk invited people to his "prove me wrong table," where he would debate what some of his critics say were controversial viewpoints.

According to the Utah Department of Public Safety (DPS),  there is "an ongoing investigation and manhunt for the shooter."

Hours before he was shot dead, Kirk's wife, Erika, shared a Bible verse from the book of Psalms.

“Psalm 46:1 - God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble,” the former Miss Arizona USA, 36, shared on X.

Days before his death, Kirk wrote on X on Sept. 7, "Jesus defeated death so you can live."  Both posts have since gone viral in the aftermath of his death and is resonating with his supporters, who are pouring tributes across social media.
