Controversial far-right activist Tommy Robinson has announced a Christmas carol event in London, as a follow up to the Unite the Kingdom rally.
Robinson has encouraged followers to “put Christ back into Christmas” at the event on 13th December, to be held at an outdoor venue yet to be confirmed.
The service description reads: “This event marks the beginning of a new Christian revival in the UK - a moment to reclaim and celebrate our heritage, culture, and Christian identity.”
More than 150,000 people attended the Unite the Kingdom rally in September, organised by the former English Defence League leader.
As reported by Premier Christian News, wooden crosses, banners declaring "Jesus is the way, the truth, the life" and flags depicting Christ were some of the Christian symbols held by protesters as they marched through London.
Dozens of church leaders from across denominations, including former Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams, criticised the use of these emblems. An open letter stated: “Any co-opting or corrupting of the Christian faith to exclude others is unacceptable.”
