Former Full House star and Hollywood actress has apologized for a TikTok video that some fans claimed to be "seductive and weird."
In the original video, Candace Cameron Bure posted a TikTok on Wednesday that featured her dancing and lipsyncing to Lana Del Ray's "Jealous Girl," an unreleased song leaked in 2012.
Specifically, she was mouthing the lyrics, "Baby, I'm a gangster too and it takes two to tango / You don't wanna dance with me, dance with me."
Bure is visibly dancing in the clip, moving toward the camera before suddenly picking up her Bible. Underneath the clip is the line "When they don't know the Holy Spirit."
The video was seen as oddly sensual by many fans, who stated so in the comments. Later that day, Bure would host an Instagram Live addressing her fan's offences. "I just came home and read a lot of messages that were not happy with my latest Instagram post that was a TikTok video," Bure shared in her Story. "And I usually don't apologize for these things, but a lot of you thought it was weird, and I'm sorry. That was not my intention. I was using a very specific clip from TikTok and applying it to the power of the Holy Spirit, which is incredible."
Bure says that her 22-year-old daughter Natasha inspired the idea to lip sync to the song after doing it herself.
"Maybe I was just trying to be too cool or relevant in a biblical way that didn't work," Bure said. "Anyway, most of you didn't like it, clearly. But there was a small percentage of you that appreciated what I did and understood my intention. But anyway, it's gone. Now I know what you don't like."
The clip is still visible on her account and currently has more than two million views.
