Body found in search for missing hospital chaplain

by Kelly Valencia

A body has been found in the search for hospital chaplain Rev Katherine Watson, who was reported missing on Thursday.

The 50-year-old was last spotted around 1 p.m. in the Heaton Road area of Newcastle, with Northumbria Police voicing increased concern for her safety.

After an extensive search, authorities confirmed that a body was located in the Jesmond Dene area of the city.

Although formal identification is yet to take place, police forces believe it is Rev Katherine.

No third party was believed to have been involved in the death, the force said.

In a statement on social media, they said: “This is an incredibly sad outcome and our thoughts are with Katherine’s loved ones at this difficult time. We will continue to support them in any way we can and we ask that their privacy is respected.”
