But Bishop Angaelos has said President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi must stick to his commitment before persecution becomes "a broader problem".
The head of state promised a full investigation into events in the village south of the capital Cairo where seven Christian homes were burnt and the grandmother attacked.
The incident happened amid rumours a Christian man was having an affair with a Muslim woman.
In Egypt it is illegal for Muslim females have relationships with Christian men, but President el-Sissi did not specify whether this would be part of the investigation.
"We are all one and the law must take its course," Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi said.
Bishop Angaelos welcomed the comments but warned that "good initiatives taken at national level" were not getting down to local villages.
He told Premier the whole nation had been touched by the attack.
"I would urge you to hold all of those people in your prayers, as well as the authorites who are going to try to repair this brokeness somewhat, because we know prayer is the most important thing we have," he said.
