Benny Hinn admitted to hospital

After returning to his home in California after ministering to crowds of over 100,000 people in Brazil, the 62 year old spent a week in bed before being advised by a doctor to go for further treatment.

He's said to have experienced almost immediate relief following the help with lack of oxygen in his cardiovascular system.

In a statement on his website, his daughter Jessica Hinn Koulianos thanked God for his recovery but called on supporters for further prayers. She said: "By God's grace and with the help of your prayers, we are told to expect a complete recovery. More importantly, his doctors are assuring him that within a very short time he will be on his feet ministering around the world again, just as he has for over 40 years.

"We've seen God's hand on my dad throughout this time of recovery, and it has encouraged and assured us that He continues to have great plans for my dad and Benny Hinn Ministries.

"On behalf of my mom, Suzanne, and our entire family, I offer our thanks for the outpouring of love and prayers from our partners and friends. And we ask that you continue in prayer for his full and speedy recovery. We know we could not do this without you."

The author and pastor is known for his "Miracle Crusades" which he holds in cities across the world. He claims to have spoken to one billion people through these meetings.
