Sir Keir Starmer has appointed Baroness Sherlock as the new Shadow Faith Minister.
The appointment follows a wave of front bench resignations over the recent Israel-Palestine ceasefire vote.
Baroness Sherlock is an ordained Church of England priest and served her curacy in Durham.
She is a member of the Christians in Parliament All Party Parliamentary Group and the APPG for safeguarding in faith communities.
A member of the House of Lords since 2010, Baroness Sherlock has served as the Shadow Spokesperson for the Department for Work and Pensions. Her policy interests include communities and families, employment and training as well as social security and pensions.
