British boxer Anthony Joshua has been injured in a car crash in Nigeria that tragically killed two others.

Joshua, who reportedly suffered only minor injuries, was travelling on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway when his vehicle collided with a stationary truck.

In the wake of the crash, Joshua’s family offered powerful prayers for both his recovery and the souls of those lost.

A relative, speaking to BBC News, shared the family's shock and said: “We are praying for Anthony’s speedy recovery, and also for the departed, may their souls rest in peace.”

The crash comes just days after Joshua’s victorious fight against YouTube star Jake Paul.

Joshua, who has strong family ties in Sagamu, Ogun State, was returning home for the New Year when the crash occurred. The 36-year-old has often expressed his pride in his Nigerian heritage and the importance of faith in his life.

Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, has also shared his relief, stating that despite the traumatic event, Joshua appears to be recovering well.
