3 Bishops in a boat raise money for chapel

The Bishop of Dudley, Graham Usher and the Assistant Bishop in the Diocese of Worcester, Robert Paterson, will be joining Rev Ian Spencer in taking turns rowing a small boat from Cropthorne to Tewkesbury.

They started at 8:30am and will finish around 6:30pm. At some point on the journey, they will also be joined by the Bishop of Worcester, Dr John Inge.

Rev Spencer is the warden of the chapel they are raising money for. The aim is to raise enough money to upkeep the room and install disabled access through the sponsorship. They will navigate four locks before reaching the slipway in Tolsey Road in Tewkesbury.

The chapel is part of Holland House - a home given to the Bishop of Worcester in 1946 upon the death on Mrs Holland. It is now a charitable trust for retreats and for visitors to 'reflect on the bigger things in life'.
