There's a new way for NHS staff in London to share their prayer requests and also to enable Christian to be more informed about what to pray for.
Christian group London Prayer launched a new initiative on Monday called 'Pray for NHS'.
For people wanting to pray for the NHS, texting the number 07857051229 would result in an invite to join a "Pray for NHS London" group.
The group sends out a daily prayer update with targeted points based on information received from medical staff in London and other sources.
NHS staff can also use the number to submit urgent prayer requests which will be prayed for or used to provide information for prayer.
David Vincent, founder of London Prayer, told Premier Christian News so far requests have been about the new NHS Nightingale Hospital, a lack of personal protective equipment and ventilators, and patients that are rapidly deteriorating.
"I'm so thankful for the work that the NHS is doing, but actually we want to see them supernaturally enabled, strengthened and equipped," he said.
"There has to be a partnership between the Church and people of prayer to really stand behind these frontline workers, and as it were, put our hands upon their back in prayer and ensure that the line that they are holding in terms of treatment in London is held."
Vincent said the initiative is off to a great start. As of Saturday there were more than 50 people taking part, many of which run prayer groups and will inform others about the prayer requests.
He expects the initiative to go farther than London as people in Southampton, Birmingham and Manchester have enquired about doing the same initiative in their areas.
