YouVersion revealed its most-engaged Scripture of 2025 after reporting a record-breaking surge in global Bible use across its family of apps.
Isaiah 41:10 took the top spot as verse of the year for the fourth time in six years. It reads:
"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
The organisation said the trend reflected a deep spiritual hunger emerging in every region of the world, with founder and chief executive Bobby Gruenewald noting that people were increasingly drawn to verses offering “assurance” in a climate marked by anxiety.
He said users were searching for what was “real and true”, adding that the Bible’s relevance is still “alive and active”.
Gruenewald added that the popular passage resonated because it reminded readers that God would “strengthen” and “help” them.
The announcement followed what YouVersion described as a year of unprecedented growth.
The organisation said momentum accelerated throughout Global Bible Month in November when every Sunday ranked among its highest days on record.
It reported that more than 19 million people opened the app on the first Sunday and that over 2.6 million joined its 30-day Bible challenge, lifting daily use by 19 per cent in November 2024.
YouVersion said engagement had been climbing since 1st January 2025, when more than three million people subscribed to one-year Bible plans.
Easter Sunday later exceeded that figure as nearly 19 million people engaged with Scripture across its platforms, with Holy Week also marking its biggest days for guided Scripture, prayers created and verses shared.
The organisation added that Bible engagement had risen across all global regions, with especially strong growth in Sub-Saharan Africa, North Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia.
