WATCH: UK gospel artists unite to record hymn to lift nation's spirits

by Tola Mbakwe

Members of Britain's gospel music community have joined forces to record a song of hope to encourage the nation during this pandemic and period of self-isolation.

The effort is led by MOBO award winning gospel singer Lurine Cato who said they released a cover of 'Great is thy faithfulness' on Sunday to remind the nation of God's presence in the mist of hard times.

"The nation is in a period of turmoil at the moment due to coronavirus, lockdown and self- isolation, "she said.

"I felt inspired to bring the gospel artists and singers who love gospel together to record a song of hope and to also encourage greater unity amongst artists.

"We decided to record the classic hymn 'Great is thy faithfulness' because it is such an inspiring song. It's a traditional hymn that will remind listeners that we can rely on God during difficult times."

The roll call of artists that took part in the recording include Royal wedding lead singer Paul Lee, Kingdom choir member Wayne Ellington, X Factor runner Up Jaheme Douglas, X Factor finalist Shan Ako, former Voice contestants Roger Samuels, Janine Dyer, Jason Nicholas Porter and 2020 Voice participant Shezar, recording artist Tony Momrell, Brit award nominee Rachel McFarlane, Shezar, worship singers Yolanda Antonia, Noel Robinson and many more.
