Vicar's wife offers forgiveness after affair

Revd Stephen Vincent lost his job at St Giles Church in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire after admitting making 'a huge, stupid mistake'.

He exchanged flirtatious text messages before getting involved in an intimate relationship.

His wife Erin has now spoken out over the incident.

Speaking to the Telegraph she said: "Our relationship was unstable at the time.

"I can see how much he regrets it and I don't think he needs punishing further. Steve is an amazing person who has made some silly decisions.

"We have three gorgeous children who mean the world to us, and we both stay strong for them."

The family is now said to be preparing to move out of their Church home and it's claimed Mr Vincent is claiming unemployment benefit.

The Diocese of Lichfield says it's continuing to offer support to the family and holds them in it's prayers.
