A Gateshead vicar has failed to make it through to the second round of talent show The Voice.
Revd John Barron failed to impress any of the four judges on the BBC programme with his take on This Is The Moment from the musical Jekyll & Hyde.
Boy George, Paloma Faith, Will.I.Am and Ricky Wilson didn't turn their chairs for the vicar meaning he left the show at the first hurdle.
On seeing the vicar in his dog collar Will.I.Am shouted: "You guys don't get it, we're in spiritual trouble."
Paloma Faith was then reassured by Revd Barron when she asked if she was going to hell.
Boy George told the clergyman he didn't turn because he had no expertise in musical theatre but added the reaction from the audience was fantastic.
"You can't buy a reaction like that," he told him.
