UK cinemas to screen new Christian film

Odeon and Showcase will both screen the movie at selected venues. The picture is based on the true story of Strobel's journey towards becoming a believer.

After users on Twitter asked why more UK cinemas won't be showing the American production, Mr Strobel answered: "Sorry, we don't have control over which theaters will show the film.

"It may help to call your theater and request it."

Five Odeon venues - in Greenwich, Kingston, Lee Valley, Manchester and Southampton - will show the picture once a day for seven days from 15th September.

Audiences will also be able to see The Case for Christ at nine Showcase venues on 15th, 16th and 18th September - in Bristol, Coventry, Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester, Nantgawr (near Cardiff), Paisley, Peterborough and Reading.

The Case for Christ tells of Lee Strobel's time as an investigative journalist in Chicago. An avowed atheist, he sets out to debunk Christianity after his wife accepts Jesus but the findings of his research surprise him.

Screenings will also be held at the Moviehouse York Gate in Belfast. The film was released in the United States on 7th April this year, where it is already available on DVD and Blueray.

Mike Vogel has been cast at Lee Strobel (The Help), while Erika Christensen (Parenthood) played his wife, Leslie Strobel.
