Trump's former right hand man facing opposition to plans to teach Catholic values at monastery

The man who masterminded President Trump's election success says he wants to revitalise Europe's Catholic roots but critics claim his links to far right movements will see him drag the continent back to the Middle Ages.

According to reports, his plans would see political parties from across Europe send recruits to the 800 year old Trisulti monastery near Rome for training.

But some think it will be tantamount to a "fundamentalist academy". One local MP has suggested she'll take her fight against the monastery to the country's parliament.

Some protesters also claim locals are being forced out of the monastery with the introduction of an entry fee of 5 euros.

Benjamin Harnwell who runs the monastery says the price is simply down to the government needing income from the building.
