Tributes paid to Christian musician and producer Ray Goudie

by Aaron James

His family say he was at peace when he passed away.

A musician since the age of 13, he wrote and produced the Christian musicals Luv Esther and The Prodigals.

Mr Goudie also founded a special faith-based community for people to reach their full potential in the creative arts called New Generation Music. Hundreds have been helped through NGM.

He penned hundreds of songs in his career and is survived by his wife Nancy (the couple, above) and their two sons.

Tributes have poured in via social media:

In a statement, NGM's general manager Zoe Wickham said: "As many of you may be aware Ray went to be with Jesus last night.

"He slept from midnight until 9am in the morning but found it difficult to keep awake during the day - at around 7.20pm he slept peacefully into the arms of Jesus.

"This is obviously a difficult time for Nancy and their two boys (Daniel and Aidan) and Aidan's fiancée, Leanne, so please do surround them with your love and prayers.

"They are heartbroken, as they will miss Ray so very much as indeed will all the ngm family.  As Nancy always says we may not understand why some things happen or don't happen but we can trust in our unfailing God.

"A more detailed statement, will be issued shortly, but in the meantime the family would like to thank everyone for their kind wishes and prayers at this time."
