Toddler killed by car after attending church conference

Evelyn Maria Celgy was rushed to Nottingham's Queen's Medical Centre after the accident outside the city's Capital FM Arena. She'd been with her family who were attending the Sehion UK Catholic bible convention.

The family have released a statement through Nottinghamshire Police: "Sadly our dearest daughter passed away at Queen's Medical Centre, Nottingham, on Saturday at 7pm.

"Evelyn was involved in a tragic Road Traffic Collision earlier that same day.

"We would like to pass our sincere thanks to Nottinghamshire Police, the paramedics, A & E staff and staff on the P.I.C.U ward at the hospital for all their compassion, sympathy, support and care provided.

"Special thanks to the hospital Chaplain who was a great source of comfort.

"Thank you to the Community, our family and friends for all their support, including, our Family Liaison Officer from Cheshire Police.

"We now request privacy whilst we come to terms with our loss."

Nottinghamshire police says anyone who saw the collision is asked to contact Police on 101 referencing incident 87 of 11 July.
