Comedian Theo Von reveals he attends Bible study with well-known musician

by Mitti Hicks

It’s not uncommon for comedians to dish out details in their personal lives, especially during stand-up comedy shows. But Theo Von shared a tidbit about his personal life on a different stage that no one saw coming.

On the latest episode of the “This Past Weekend” podcast with comedian Leanne Morgan, Von revealed that he and his friend, country music star Morgan Wallen, are in a Bible study group together.

It was a topic that came up in discussion after Von told Morgan that she still owed Wallen a casserole. He went on to tell her that she should bake it that night because he would be seeing Wallen at Bible study the next day and could hand-deliver it to him.

“I’m gonna see him tomorrow, Bible study, actually,” Von said.

Morgan went on to say she thinks Wallen will have a career beyond singing: “I think he’s gonna end up preaching.”

Von replied: “I have no idea. I just know he’s an inspiring guy. He’s an interesting guy."

Morgan pressed Von a little more about what they’re studying in Bible study.

“Is it Beth Moore?” she asked. “What are y’all studying?”

“Tomorrow, I think we’re watching a movie, but it is Bible Study,” Von said, adding that he’s not sure what chapter they are on.

Von has been open about his struggles with addiction, mental health, and emotional loneliness, which he says have drawn him closer to God.
