The Priests unveil new album

by Aaron James

Alleluia is the band's fifth album and comes as a feature film chronicling the lives of the three Northern Irish church leaders continues to be made in Hollywood.

The Priests, made up of brothers Fr Eugene and Fr Martin O'Hagan and Fr David Delargy, originally took the world by storm in 2008 with their eponymous debut album.

The group went on to break the record for the fastest selling debut classical album at the time and went both gold and platinum across three continents.

The trio still minister to their parishes in Northern Ireland, specifically demanding with Sony that they must have time for ministry if they're to be signed with them.

It's thought the Beatles' track Eleanor Rigby will be on Alleluia.

Fr Martin told The Guardian: "You could escape and, yes, you look at other people's lifestyles. But the parish comes first, we're ingrained here.

"The bishop has never said, 'OK that's enough, guys'. Music reaches people, and crosses boundaries and frontiers.

"There is something healing about singing. It's part of our ministry."
