Spanish football clubs continue traditional Holy Week processions

by James Lewis

Two Spanish football clubs have contributed to Holy Week processions in Seville, as part of a long-standing tradition.

Sevilla FC made floral offerings at the Hermandad de la Milagrosa, the Brotherhood of the Miraculous Medal, as part of its Passion Saturday procession.

The club is also involved in the Hermandad de San Pablo, Brotherhood of Saint Paul, procession on Holy Monday. A photo posted by the club shows flowers by the float, which will travel from the Church of San Ignacio de Loyola to the Catedral de Sevilla.

Real Betis FC shared an image of a float for the Holy Monday procession through Tiro de Línea by Hermandad de Santa Genoveva, The Brotherhood of Santa Genoveva.
