Robbie Williams 'does not condone' church sex scene in new biopic of his life

Robbie Williams has said he "does not condone" a church-based sex scene in his new biopic, which reflects on his life in the limelight.

The popstar says the new biographical film shares "warts and all", and that he wishes some of the sex scenes weren't going to be put in.

In particular, a scene that takes place in a church.

Speaking to Australian fans in an ask-and-answer session, he said: "There are sex scenes that I do not condone.

"He [Director Michael Gracey] said that it is a necessity for the script that I get completely naked and I am not sure why as there is one scene where we are in a church and it does not call for it.

"It is my life and it is what I got up to. It is not anodyne, it is not vanilla. It is drugs, the ups, the downs, the women, the sex."

Despite sharing his life on the big screen, the father-of-four is keen to keep the film from his children, fearing he will "have a lot to answer for."

The Stoke-on-Trent native rose to fame as part of Take That - Britian's most successful boyband - before going solo in 1995.

He's been open about his difficult relationship with drugs - a battle which will feature heavily in the biopic.

Cameras started rolling in Melbourne last week, but a release date has not yet been announced.
