The Queen has been pictured travelling to church for the first time since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. 

The Queen, who is a committed Christian and head of the Church of England, was photographed on her way to church in Windsor on Sunday for a service at the Royal Chapel of All Saints in the grounds of the nearby Royal Lodge.

The Queen and Prince Philip were last photographed outside the chapel in July 2020 following the lockdown wedding of Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.

According to reports, the Queen has continued to attend services in private throughout the pandemic. 

The queen has previously described her Christian faith as the "anchor" in her life.

During her 2016 Christmas message, she said: 

“Billions of people now follow Christ’s teaching and find in him the guiding light for their lives. I am one of them because Christ’s example helps me see the value of doing small things with great love, whoever does them and whatever they themselves believe.”

Her Majesty is getting back to regular royal engagements and duties now that restrictions have been lifted. On Tuesday, she will attend a service of thanksgiving at Westminster Abbey to commemorate the centenary of the Royal British Legion.
