Fr Julian Kent from Portsmouth said around a dozen people regularly attend the Community Parish of the Holy Angels, that is held in his former shed that's not much bigger than a garage.
Speaking to Premier during News Hour he explained: "We just fondly call it the chapel. We have regular Sunday services here and there's a good mix of ages that attend.
"I cook them dinner afterwards. We have table fellowship as well as alter fellowship."
The space, which has a bishop's throne and organ is one of 32 that have been shortlisted to be named the Cuprinol Shed of the Year for 2017.
Fr Kent originally used the garden hut, which is thought to be the smallest fully-functioning cathedral in the country, for private worship. He later decided to convert it.
He said: "I had no idea at that time that it was actually going to get a congregation."
The shortlisted sheds will appear this summer on Channel 4.
