Premier Christian Radio presenter Mal Pope has received a mention in the House of Commons.

Carolyn Harris MP has joined with Mal to record a Christmas single, Everyone Deserves a Christmas, in aid of delivering festive food parcels to those in need.  

Inspiration struck whilst Carolyn was packing community Christmas hampers at home.

Speaking in the Commons, she said: “Like our song says, there’s a reason for the season and everyone deserves a Christmas.”

Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer joked that he would not be rivalling them for Christmas number one, but said:  “I do thank Mal Pope and their campaign."

The Everyone Deserves campaign said: “Everyone Deserves is a year-round project which began as an effort to include everyone in Christmas by delivering Christmas Hampers to those in need of additional support.

“The project is delivered on an entirely voluntary basis with no organisation or partner receiving any payment for the work undertaken. For Christmas 2023, 2000 selected families in Swansea East, Swansea West, Neath, Aberavon, Blaenau Gwent and Merthyr Tydfil all benefited from the project.”
