"Preacher" and "The Rev" make 3rd place in Motorcycle Sidecar Championship

by Hannah Tooley

Andy 'Preacher' Haynes and Jon 'The Rev' Bicknell, an ordained Anglican minister, took part in the race.

Mr Haynes said: "It was great to secure 3rd place in the championship in the first race of the weekend.

"However it did get a little stressful bringing the machine home in those last few laps as something was clearly wrong.

"But we're over the moon and so pleased with what we've managed to achieve in our first season on the big bike."

The team now look onto 2016 when they will again participate in the British Motorcycle Racing Club F1 Sidecar Championship and they also plan to enter some of the televised rounds of the British Superbike F1 Sidecar Championship.

"Whilst I'll be training hard over the closed season keeping fit I'm also hoping to attract some sponsorship and this year's successes will help with that," said Andy Haynes.

"I'm quite prepared to work hard at demonstrating to companies and individuals that sponsoring me provides them with an opportunity to raise their profile through the press opportunities I generate and also being associated with what is quite a unique sport.

"I'm very happy to work with sponsors on promoting their products or services and helping them see a return on their investment and can offer interesting talks, pictures, video's and visits to race meetings."
