Prayers at Sunday services for AirAsia Flight 8501

Most of the people lost after the aircraft crashed into the Java Sea have still not been recovered because of bad weather hampering the recovery operations.

More than 2,500 people attended Surabaya's Mawar Sharon Christian megachurch, which has 14 families affected by the crash.

162 people were on board AirAsia Flight 8501 which was lost on December 28 as it flew between Surabaya and Singapore.

It's thought 52 members of Mawar Sharon Christian megachurch were on the aircraft.

Pastor Caleb Natanielliem said: "Obviously in this situation, for people who believe in God, it is very easy to blame [and ask] why is all this so unfair.

"As a pastor, I know that we are a family and we need to stand together.

Speaking about his use of Psalm 139 the pastor said: "It talks about flying. If I can fly with my wings to the ends of the Earth, your love is still there. If I go to the bottom of the sea, to the darkest pit, your love is still there. I believe this is the message for the families.

"It talks about how we can never escape from God's love"
