John Edwards, the founder of 'Walking Free', a charity set up to help the suicidal, lost and addicted, will spend time in a coffin that's 8ft long and 4ft wide.
He will spend up to ten days buried underground in the coffin that is fully fitted with electrics and broadband.
He will be buried in Three Ways Complex, Nursery Lane in Halifax.
JCBs have dug a hole for the coffin and there is space for him to sit up as well as lie down.
John Edwards has founded rehabilitation centres, overcome Hepatitis C from dirty needles and spent time in mental health institutes.
He says that God has changed his life and turned it around: "I'm a former addict and I've been clean and sober for 25 years.
"I'm making a very large coffin, I'm burying it in Halifax, England and I'm going to live in it for three to ten days."
He plans to broadcast stories of hope from inside the buried coffin.
John Edwards told Premier why he has decided to do it.
He said: "I'm meeting more and more people who're suicidal, that's traumatised me really.
"As a consequence of praying and thinking about that I've decided to address this by going into the grave and being a voice from the grave trying to tell people, don't go into a premature grave.
"Learn how to live and learn how to get to know God when you're on the surface, at least learn the practical tools you need to live in to be able to navigate darkness and difficulty in life."
He asked for prayer: "I ask that people would pray that folk from around the world... will hear about this and get in touch and we'll literally be able to save their lives.
"Hopefully pray with them as well, but literally that we'll be able to save their lives."
John Edwards told Premier he has decided to do it because thousands of families in the UK witness their children take various substances and subsequently die from drug misuse or addiction.
"I know this is a radical move but people are continually contacting me who are either suicidal or who know friends or family who are," he said:
"My plan is to speak to them from the grave before they get there and show them there is hope."
He will take calls, emails, Skype and texts from all kinds of people around the world who in turn will share their stories, live streaming through the coffin.
