The man in control of how Catholic mass and other sacraments are celebrated has been let go from Rome.
Pope Francis has sent Cardinal Antonio Canizares Llovera back to Spain six years after he was appointed by Emeritus Pope Benedict XVI.
Cardinal Llovera was seen as conservative and traditional and had changed the way mass was celebrated.
It's thought Pope Francis favours a more relaxed and modern service.
A replacement has not yet been confirmed.
It's not the first time Francis has removed an appointment by Benedict.
Last year he sent the man responsible for the world's priests home.
