‘Please Jesus change Putin’s heart’: US priest spends thousands on prayer billboards

by Kelly Valencia

A US priest has spent over $16,000 (£21,000) on billboards and newspaper adds to encourage people to pray for Russia’s president, Vladimir Putin.

Rev Ed Nadolny, from Connecticut, runs “The Good News Fund”, a ministry to spread the gospel by placing Christian messages on highway billboards and newspaper ads in Connecticut.

Messages such as “Jesus, I trust in you,” “Life starts in the womb, choose life,” and “Please come back to Jesus and His church” can be read on his billboards.

His latest one reads: “Please, Jesus, change V. Putin’s heart,” and includes an image of Christ.

The 90-year-old, whose family is from Ukraine, told WTIC-TV he thinks, “Each one of us has a terribly important responsibility to pray”.

“Kids are getting killed, hospitals and orphanages are getting hit. So, this [Putin] is a madman. And I’m praying that the people of Russia will rise up,” he continued.

He also revealed that he spent more than $300,000 last year on placing messages encouraging people to pray for important causes.

According to his GoFundMe page to support his ministry, each month over 2 million cars drive past by his billboards which contain messages about Jesus and Mary – reminding them that they are loved and not alone.
