Pentecostal church prays for Donald Trump

On a visit to the New Spirit Revival Center in Cleveland Heights, church leaders laid hands on the presidential candidate and prayed.

The Republican nominee was visiting the church led by black pastor Darrell Scott who spoke at the party convention to support Trump's candidacy.

Scott's wife, Belinda, prayed for Trump: "God we ask you right now that your choice is this choice.

"We believe Lord God that you ordain things. You said all authority is of you.

"Now God I ask that you would touch this man, Donald J. Trump, give him the anointing to lead this nation"

"We ask for help and we ask you God to let that help be in the form of the next president Mr. Donald J. Trump. We ask you God to bless him, keep him safe, give him the wisdom and the strength to lead this nation, in Jesus name."

The prayers took place before a town hall discussion designed to appeal to black voters on Wednesday.

During the interview, Trump called for the national introduction of "stop and frisk" - a controversial police tactic of questioning and checking for weapons that was previously found to disproportionately target African American and Latino neighbourhoods.

The Evangelical presidential hopeful has sparked controversy in the past after trying to engage black voters.

He has previously implied the lives of black people in American could not get any worse so they had nothing to lose if they voted for him.

He said: "You're living in poverty, your schools are no good, you have no jobs, 58% of your youth is unemployed, what the hell do you have to lose?"

In August a Fox News poll suggested Ms Clinton has 85% of the black vote and Trump has 1%.
