Pastor accused of murdering pregnant wife

Charmain Adusah, who was three months pregnant, was found dead in a hotel in Ghana last month.

She had been attending a religious event with her husband, Pastor Eric Isaiah Adusah but it's claimed the couple had a disagreement over how long to stay in the country.

It's reported Pastor Adusah left the Royal Mac Dic Hotel without his wife and told reception she did not want to be disturbed.

Hotel staff entered the room when they became concerned for the woman, who was known as Charmain Spiers before marriage, and found her "lying prostrate with a white towel wrapped around her, almost in a decomposed state," police said.

The pastor then returned to Ghana on news of his wife's death where he is now being held on suspicion of her murder.

Mrs Adusah grew up in Arbroath, Scotland, before moving to Wales and then London.

A spokesman for the foreign office said: "We confirm the death of a British national in Ghana. Mr Adusah has not requested consular assistance."

A statement on Global Light Revival Ministries website said: "Global Light Revival Church regret to announce the passing away of our First Lady Mrs Charmaine Isaiah Adusah.

"The Church express our deepest sympathy to our Revd Eric Isaiah Adusah and the Speirs family and stand with them in prayer at this time."

The Church told Premier it had no comment to make on the arrest.
