After cancelling a Christian conference booking due to complaints made by students, an Oxford college has been issued with a warning.

The warning states that they could be seen to be unlawfully discriminating against the students. 

Worcester College, which is run by the former head of the equalities watchdog, David Issac, apologised for hosting a Christian Concern training camp.

They have also cancelled another booking after students complained they had been 'distressed' at the event. 

However from an independent review it was found there was no evidence for the student's allegations, which also included 'aggressive leafleting' by attendees who it was claimed, had tried to discuss conversion therapy.

The college staff found that there had been no such leaflet found, from an inquiry by lawyer Michael Stewart.

Within the Independent Inquiry conclusions, Premier learned: "The allegations that have been made regarding inappropriate behaviour are not in keeping with my own experiences with the delegates with whom I had the pleasure of teaching and interacting. 

"I found them unfailingly courteous and, in their debates with each other, mature and respectful.

"I really struggle to see any truth in the allegations by Worcester College.

"I find it very sad that people are spreading lies when the week was a very positive week where many of today's issues could be discussed in love and respect."

The Free Speech Union has written to David asking him to apologise and to reinstate the booking for the next Wilberforce Academy conference in September. 

Worcester College does not accept the findings of the inquiry and did not engage with it. However they have offered to meet Christian Concern.
