Christians watching the Christmas service at St Paul's from the street are to be given Holy Communion for the first time.
Traditionally, thousands of people watch the event on big screens at Paternoster Square, but previously they were unable to fully take part.
Now the bread and wine will be taken out to them during the Midnight Eucharist on Christmas Eve.
Other services will also be shown on the big screens, including carols on 23th December and on Christmas Eve.
St Paul's has now launched its Christmas website, which details all services that will be held over the festive period.
