MOBO Gospel Act of the Year nominees announced

by Sophie Drew

The nominees for the 2022 MOBO Awards have been revealed, and the Best Gospel Act category is jam-packed with the best in British Christian music.

The award show will be taking place on 30 November, marking 25 years since the MOBOs first began, promising an even bigger evening than previous years.

The gospel music category has previously been dominated by a host of household names, such as Guvna B, Volney Morgan & New Ye and Triple O.

The 2022 nominees include Asha Elia, who secured 1million streams on Spotify for her Christian hit Nights Like This.

Hot on her heels is Calledout Music, who previously won the Best Gospel Act in 2020.

Another previous winner looking to reclaim her crown is Rachel Kerr, who took home the award in 2012.

Other nominees include Reblah, who has already pocketed a number of awards throughout his career; and  Sarah Teibo, who was named winner of the Premier Gospel Awards Album of the Year; and Still Shadey, a rapper that has become no stranger to sold out venues.

A limited number of tickets are now on sale.

In a world of fake news there’s never been a greater need for quality Christian journalism. Premier’s mission is to provide the Church with the most up to date and relevant news, told from a Christian perspective. But we can’t do it without you.

Unlike many websites we haven't put up a paywall — we want to keep our journalism free at the point of need and as open as we can. Premier’s news output takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. No one in the USA is sharing news like we are across radio, magazines and online so please help us to continue that today.

For a monthly gift of $11 or more we’d also be able to send you a free copy of the brand new Premier Bible, a wonderful Anglicised version of the NLT packed with exclusive bonus content, reading plan and resources to help you get the most out of scripture.

Your monthly support will make a world of difference. Thank you.
