The move comes after significant successes within the genre in recent months.
In 2013 the Official Chart Company launched the Christian and Gospel Album chart - which is broadcast on Premier Christian Radio on Tuesday afternoons.
Two of its biggest selling albums have gone on to achieve mainstream success.
Irish band Rend Collective's album 'The Art of Celebration' hit the top 20 and Bradford based LIFE Worship's album 'Dance Again' made the top 40.
