Marcus Arduini Monzo, 37, has been sentenced to life in prison, with a minimum term of 38 years, for the murder of 14-year-old Daniel Anjorin during a sword attack in Hainault, north-east London.
Daniel and his family were members of Jubilee Church London.
Under the influence of cannabis-induced psychosis, Monzo killed Daniel and injured five others, including two police officers, as reported by ITV.
He was convicted of multiple offences, including murder, attempted murder and aggravated burglary.
Mr Justice Bennathan said: “Over 20 minutes, members of the public were attacked, police officers were gravely injured, a couple were terrified in their own home and a clever, talented young boy was killed. You, Marcus, did all of that.”
Daniel’s father, Dr Ebenezer Anjorin, told the court: “We will not see him get married or have children. All the normal things parents hope for their children... All these hopes and aspirations have been cruelly snatched away from us... It has been the worst nightmare experience of our lives.”
Speaking after Anjorin's funeral last year, Pastor Tope Koleoso described him as: "gentle, spirited and just a peace-loving boy".
He added: "So the service kind of captured that. It was a gentle moment. It was peaceful. And yet it was a celebration of Daniel's life."
Monzo, who viewed extremist content online, described himself as a “professional assassin” and likened the events to The Hunger Games.
