Guthrie family ‘cannot be in peace’ until mother Nancy is found

by James Lewis

Television presenter Savannah Guthrie and her family have issued a fresh appeal in the case of their missing mother, urging the public to keep looking and praying.

Searches for missing Nancy Guthrie have entered a seventh week, after she was reported missing from Tucson when she did not attend church on Feb. 1. No suspects have been identified.

In a statement, the family asked “for renewed attention” to the case of the 84- year-old, calling on the Arizona community to “search their memories” for any detail that could help investigations.

They believe “someone knows something”, although they may not realise it.

“We miss our mom with every breath, and we cannot be in peace until she is home. We cannot grieve; we can only ache and wonder," the statement continued.

“We want to celebrate her beautiful and courageous life, but we cannot do that until she is brought to a final place of rest. Thank you for continuing to pray without ceasing."

The message comes as local station KVOA aired a documentary on the disappearance, titled “Bring Her Home”.

Savannah, who anchors the morning programme on NBC, shared an image on Instagram of Jesus Christ’s ascension with the text “I Believe”.

Authorities believe Nancy was kidnapped, having last been seen on the evening of Jan. 31. Alleged ransom notes and DNA evidence has not advanced the investigation further.

The FBI had shared doorbell camera footage of an armed and masked person outside Nancy's house on the morning of her disappearance.

The case has attracted international attention, with the family offering $1m as a reward, in addition to the $50,000 advertised by the FBI.
